Privacy Policy at Skamex S.A.

This Privacy Policy outlines the principles for processing and protecting personal data provided by users in connection with their use of the website. www.skamex.com.pl

1. General Information

The data controller is Skamex S.A., Częstochowska Street 38/52, 93–121 Łódź.

In order to ensure the security of the data entrusted to us, we have developed internal procedures and recommendations to prevent unauthorized access to the data.

2. Method of Collecting Personal Data

The service performs functions for obtaining information about users and their behaviors in the following ways:

  1. Through information voluntarily entered in forms
  2. Through the collection of “cookies” files
  3. Through the collection of web server logs by the hosting operator Skamex S.A., operating at www.skamex.com.pl

3. Scope and Purpose of Collected Personal Data

The personal data you entrust to us, particularly your first name, last name, address, email address, and phone number, are processed for the following purposes:

  1. To the extent necessary to establish, shape the content of, modify, terminate, and properly execute services provided electronically and fulfill your orders
  2. To fulfill orders you place for products in our assortment
  3. To handle any complaints you submit and process refunds in the event of contract withdrawal (product returns)
  4. If you consent to receive marketing information from us, including commercial information sent electronically, your personal data will also be processed to provide you with information about our store, offers, and promotions, as well as information about products and services from entities cooperating with us (with our knowledge and explicit permission).

Providing personal data is voluntary; however, lack of consent for us to process your personal data may prevent us from providing you with electronic services and making purchases.

Users can browse the website without having to reveal their identity or disclose any personal data; however, once they provide their personal data, they are no longer anonymous. By providing their data, the user agrees to its collection and use by the Company as described in this document and the Terms of Service.

By entrusting us with your personal data, you have the right to access it, the right to request its update, and the right to request its deletion. You can also request the deletion of your data by sending an appropriate request to inspektor@skamex.com.pl

The Company may refuse to delete data if the user’s previous behavior on the website has violated the provisions of this document, the Terms of Service, or applicable laws, and retaining the data is necessary to clarify the circumstances and determine the user’s responsibility.

4. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

Personal data is processed based on the consent given by you as a User of the Service and in cases where legal provisions require the Administrator to process such personal data or when processing is necessary to conclude and perform a contract to which you are a party.

5. Information in Forms

  1. The Service collects information voluntarily provided by you as a User of the System.
  2. The Service may also save information about connection parameters (time stamp, IP address).
  3. The data provided in the form is processed for purposes arising from the specific form’s function, such as handling the order process or commercial contact.

6. Udostępnianie danych

  1. The data provided in the form is processed for purposes arising from the specific form’s function, such as handling the order process or facilitating commercial contact.
  2. Your personal data, enabling your identification, can only be shared with your consent.
  3. Remember that the Administrator may be obliged to provide information collected by the Service to authorized authorities based on lawful requests to the extent resulting from the request; in this case, consent cannot be requested for such disclosure.

7. Cookies

Our service uses cookies. Cookies are IT data, particularly text files, stored on the Service User’s end device and intended for using the Service’s web pages. Cookies usually contain the name of the website they come from, the time of storage on the end device, and a unique number.

The entity placing cookies on the Service User’s end device and accessing them is the operator of the Service.

Cookies are used for the following purposes:

  • To create statistics that help understand how Service Users use the websites, allowing the improvement of their structure and content;
  • To maintain the Service User’s session (after logging in), so the User does not have to re-enter their login and password on each subpage of the Service;
  • To define the user profile to display tailored materials in advertising networks, particularly the Google network;
  • In connection with using the SalesManago program for contact, which you can read about on www.salesmanago.pl/info

The Service uses two basic types of cookies: “session” cookies and “persistent” cookies. “Session” cookies are temporary files stored on the User’s end device until logging out, leaving the website, or turning off the software (web browser).

“Persistent” cookies are stored on your end device for the time specified in the cookie parameters or until you delete them. Web browsing software (web browser) usually allows the storage of cookies on the User’s end device by default. Service Users can change the settings in this regard. The web browser enables the deletion of cookies. It is also possible to automatically block cookies. Detailed information on this can be found in the help or documentation of the web browser. Restrictions on the use of cookies may affect some functionalities available on the Service’s web pages. Cookies placed on the Service User’s end device can also be used by advertisers and partners cooperating with the Service operator. We recommend reading the privacy policies of these companies to understand the rules for using cookies in statistics: Google Analytics Privacy Policy. Cookies can be used by advertising networks, particularly the Google network, to display ads tailored to the way the user uses the Service. For this purpose, they can retain information about the user’s navigation path or time spent on a particular page. Regarding user preferences information collected by the Google advertising network, the user can view and edit information derived from cookies using the tool: www.google.com/ads/preferences/

8. Managing Cookies – How to Express and Withdraw Consent in Practice

If the user does not want to receive cookies, they can change the browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies necessary for authentication processes, security, maintaining user preferences may hinder, and in extreme cases, may prevent the use of websites.

To manage cookie settings, select the web browser/system from the list provided and follow the instructions:

Mobile devices:

9. Server Logs

Information about some user behaviors is subject to logging at the server level. These data are used only to administer the service and ensure the most efficient service provision of the hosting services. The browsed resources are identified by URL addresses. Additionally, the following may be recorded:

  • Time of request arrival;
  • Time of sending the response;
  • Client station name – identification carried out by the HTTP protocol;
  • Information about errors that occurred during the HTTP transaction execution;
  • URL of the page previously visited by the user (referrer link) – if the Service was accessed via a link;
  • Information about the user’s browser;
  • Information about the IP address.

The above data are not associated with specific persons browsing the pages and are used only for server administration purposes.

10. Contact

The data administrator will contact you as a User via email, telephone, or traditional mail. Users will be provided with information regarding responses to questions submitted via the contact form. Information transmission electronically occurs only with users’ consent.

11. Data Security

The Administrator declares that they will strive to ensure a high level of security for Users whose data they manage when using the service. The modern data protection techniques applied for the service security aim to ensure the highest level of security.

12. Types of Cookies

  • Internal cookies – files placed and read from the User’s device by the Service’s teleinformation system.
  • External cookies – files placed and read from the User’s device by teleinformation systems of external services.
  • Session cookies – files placed and read from the User’s device by the Service during one session of a given device. After the session ends, the files are deleted from the User’s device.
  • Persistent cookies – files placed and read from the User’s device by the Service until manually deleted. The files are not deleted automatically after the session ends unless the User’s device configuration is set to delete cookies after the session ends.
  • Necessary cookies – cookies essential for the proper functioning of our Service. They support basic functions (e.g., logging in, shopping cart) and serve to ensure security. The use of these cookies does not require your consent and is automatically stored on your device. They are active during your visit to the service or a little longer. You can block these cookies using browser settings, but in this case, the Service may not function properly. Check the list of necessary cookies.
  • Analytical cookies – we want to analyze how you, as a User, use our Service. This helps us create reports and statistics that help us improve our Service. For this purpose, we use the Google Analytics tool, and some information collected by cookies is sent to Google; check the list of analytical cookies.
  • Advertising cookies – we want to deliver ads tailored to your interests and measure the effectiveness of our ads. For this purpose, we and our advertising partners use various cookies. Some of them track your activity on our Service (e.g., products you browse), collect different information, and pass it on to our advertising partners. This allows you to see our ads tailored to your interests on other websites (e.g., if you browse our products, their advertisement may appear on another site later). The activity period of these cookies is up to 6 months. Check the list of advertising cookies.

13. Security

Storage and reading mechanisms – Storage and reading mechanisms of cookies do not allow for the collection of any personal data or any confidential information from the User’s device. The transfer of viruses, trojans, and other worms to the User’s device is practically impossible.

Internal cookies – the internal cookies used by the Administrator are safe for the Users’ devices.

14. Purposes of Using Cookies

By using our website without changing your browser settings, you consent to the use of the necessary cookies. This allows our Service to be fully secure and convenient. Since we respect your right to privacy, you may opt-out of accepting certain types of cookies by making a choice via the banner provided in the Service.

  1. Improving and facilitating access to the Service – The Administrator may store information about the User’s preferences and settings regarding the Service in cookies to improve, enhance, and speed up the service provision within the Service.
  2. Your personal data will be profiled and tailored to your interests, which we will determine based on the content browsed on the Service belonging to the Administrator and we will conduct statistical analyses to improve services.
  3. Statistical data – The Administrator and external services use cookies to collect and process statistical data such as, for example, visit statistics, User device statistics, or User behavior statistics. These data are collected to analyze and improve the Service.
  4. Providing multimedia services – The Administrator and external services use cookies to serve multimedia services to Users.

15. External Services

The Administrator does not cooperate with external services and the Service does not place or use any external cookies.

16. Options for Storing and Accessing Data on the User’s Devices by the Service

The User may, at any time, independently change the settings for storing, deleting, and accessing data stored in cookies, including withdrawing consent (this will not affect the legality of actions taken while the consent was in effect).

Information on how to disable cookies in the most popular computer and mobile browsers is available on the websites:

Due to the multitude of technological solutions, it is not possible to provide precise guidelines on how to set storage or access conditions for cookies using settings for all available telecommunication end devices and software installed on these devices. However, in most cases, you need to select “Tools” or “Settings” and there find the section responsible for configuring cookie settings or managing privacy while browsing the Internet. Detailed information is usually provided by the manufacturer of the device or browser in the user manual or on their website.

The User can delete all cookies stored so far at any time using the tools of the User’s device through which the User uses the Service’s services.

17. Service Requirements

Restricting the storage and access to cookies on the User’s device may cause some Service functions to malfunction.

The Administrator is not responsible for any improperly functioning Service features if the User restricts any way the ability to save and read cookies.

18. Third-Party Access to Cookies

As part of our online offerings, we use Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a tool provided by Google LLC from the USA. Google processes information for us based on your consent. Analytical cookies do not collect information that directly identifies you. The information collected includes your device, browser, approximate location, and how you use our service (e.g., which page you visit the service from, which pages you browse, and for how long, whether you have visited our Service before). For additional privacy protection, we have enabled IP address anonymization.

It cannot be ruled out that US authorities may access data stored by Google.
Cookies are valid for 14 months.

Our advertising partners use their own cookies and use them according to their privacy policies (e.g., to tailor ads and display them on the sites supported by these partners). Check the list of advertising partners. Advertising cookies do not collect information that directly identifies you.
